We have confirmation from Ports of Auckland that they expect to resume standard 24/7 operations beginning tomorrow, April 6. The Port expects normal berthing procedures for vessels to be back up and running by Tuesday, April 10. Maersk Line operations will resume in line with these dates.

The six-week long strike has created a significant backlog of empty and full containers at alternative ports and intermodal points around the country. While we work to clear this backlog,  the Auckland Strike Surcharge will be applicable until April 16,2012 at the following levels:

World (excl. Puerto Rico, Taiwan, Guam, US, Virgin Islands (US), American Samoa and Colombia) to/from Auckland:

Effective March 2, 2012 – April 8, 2012:

  • USD 80 per 20′ container
  • USD 160 per 40′ container / high cube

Effective April 9, 2012 – April 16, 2012:

  • USD 130 per 20′ container
  • USD 260 per 40′ container / high cube

Puerto Rico, Taiwan, Guam, US, Virgin Islands (US), American Samoa and Colombia to/from Auckland:

March 30, 2012 16 April 16,2012:

  • USD 80 per 20′ container
  • USD 160 per 40′ container / high cube
